The PIT Party Fundraiser

Held Annually in August

Many years ago when our annual fund raising party first originated, the meat was taken to Blennerhassett Island on Friday night to be cooked. A 'pit' was dug and a fire was created inside the pit and brought to an optimal temperature. The meat was thoroughly wrapped and placed inside the pit to be slow roasted overnight. Members gathered around the 'pit' to keep the fire stoked and fellowship. And so the Pit Party Tradition began!
